Before selecting a winding

Resolve the installed envelope first.

Rotor geometry

Magnet segment geometry, coating, bonding gap and retention arrangement.

Thermal margin

Select magnet grade against the operating magnetic circuit and temperature.

Loss control

Review segmentation, electrical insulation and lamination choices with duty.

Begin with the air-gap envelope and the rotor retention scheme

The Ganzhou rare-earth supply-chain focus supports a magnet-to-assembly sourcing route. Project review starts with magnet geometry, coating, tolerances and bonding surfaces. Grade selection must account for temperature and demagnetizing field, rather than assuming that a high room-temperature energy product is always the best choice.

Assess eddy-current losses against the speed and drive waveform

Magnet segmentation and electrical isolation may reduce particular loss paths, but they also affect tooling, bonding and inspection. Review the controller waveform, pole count, speed and thermal path before selecting a process. Agree the simulation assumptions and prototype measurements; do not treat a process name as proof of a loss reduction.

Connect stator laminations, winding and potting to assembly depth

Lamination burrs, stack control, coil ends and potting clearances can consume the axial space saved by the motor concept. Request a DFM review covering tooling, winding routing, insulation and fit. Confirm which processes are in-house and which are supplied before placing a production order.

Release the prototype against a revision-controlled inspection plan

Agree drawing revision, magnet polarity checks, assembly runout, electrical tests and balance requirements before sample manufacture. Review sample quantity, tooling and lead time after the geometry is assessed. A quotation should identify the deliverable scope, acceptance records and change-control process.

Questions before freezing the drawing

Can you quote only a magnetic rotor assembly?

Yes, rotor-only and other component scopes can be reviewed. Define the magnet, carrier, retention and inspection scope on the drawing so the quotation has a clear boundary.

Is a fast prototype lead time guaranteed?

A schedule is confirmed after DFM, material availability and tooling review. No universal sample lead time is claimed.
